Holy reindeer meat grinder, Santa, this is a hell of a late stocking stuffer! Finnish Death/Grind trio Cadaveric Incubator released their second album, Nightmare Necropolis, back in 2021, and I'll be damned how I missed this sick little fucker until now. Mixing grind and death isn't as simple as it may sound on paper, and it's really easy to come across as dumbass blasting that doesn't even have the energy and conviction to overcome that, but these boys bow low before the altar of old Xysma and leave them offerings of Autopsy's demos, and we are rewarded with a violent and entertaining sound that throws maggot-infested limbs around with reckless abandon. There's nothing here that reinvents the bloodsoaked wheel, but what's the point in that when you can just roll out some nasty old-fashioned death/grind and crush posers' skulls with it like Cadaveric Incubator have? Gore-soaked fun that'll have the weak among you running for your lives.
