From Dust to Creation is the debut album from this French band going by the name Fall of Seraphs. They play standard bashing death metal with low, growly vocals that are occasionally spiced up with drier, black rasping. They have a nice, thick sound and are quite melodic without losing much aggression. There are a couple of sound effects here and there that lend a little space and gravitas to the proceedings, but mostly they pound away with a solid death metal attack. None of the songs stand out but none suck either, making From Dust to Creation a perfectly headbanging, if not very distinctive, effort. |
