This is the debut EP from Telomyras, a band out of Seattle, Washington. It is a traditional metal base upon which Telomyras build their songs, adding progressive touches, occasional harsh vocals, and other genre flourishes here and there without compromising the roots of their sound. There is a bit of thrash at the beginning of "Colorless" that evokes Metallica's "Hit the Lights" and some later era Maiden bass and guitar interplay on "Throne of Ruin." The vocals are strong and clear and remind me of Grace Slick from her early days in Jefferson Airplane (a metallic version, of course) and the guitars have a nice, punchy sound. Telomyras have crafted a solid, throw-a-fist-in-the-air collection of songs and the only niggle I have is that sometimes the vocal lines and melodies come across slightly disjointed or out of sync (on "Hydra" for instance), at least to my ears. Nevertheless, a solid and promising start for this band.
