It's been a hell of a long time since I got a Disinter album. Break of Bones leaves me a similar impression to that of when I reviewed Demonic Portraiture over 21 years ago. It's good death metal, often pedal-to-the-metal and aggressive as hell, and then every now and then they calm down a bit and throw in some short melodic passages. The growls are really good for the most part, the vocalist shouting them as fast as the music which makes some songs sound even more insane. Death metal is a crowded genre and, as you might expect, this album doesn't bring anything new to the table, but it's quite listenable even though I can't say I remember much of it once it's over. Solid for the most part. |
