This is some pretty dense black metal with a wall-to-wall sound that doesn't give much breathing room, pinning the listener to the floor and attacking all senses. The slower parts are borderline apocalyptic and crushing, and when they speed things up, it's more of that, just with a more savage and destructive delivery. There are some growly rasps for vocals, but it is the occasional screams that really get you, the kind of scream you might hear from someone falling to their death—very effective and attention-grabbing. This has kind of a no-future or, at the very least, messed-up-future vibe throughout, so it's definitely not your morning picker-upper. It's is messed up stuff, but it's hard not to press play again when it's over. |
