First album by this Texas band who play a noodly, groovy kind of highly occult, female-fronted Doom that I happen to like. Like similar bands such as Jex Thoth or Blood Ceremony, this veers a bit into stoner territory, but as always I am willing to overlook that if the riffs are good and the vibe is sufficiently arcane. This could be heavier, but the riffs are hooky, and even if the long songs sometimes get repetitive, they don't wear out their welcome. If you like this kind of more mellow, occult stuff, then Temptress are a good addition to the landscape.
