Hellcrash have certainly been keeping busy. This new album is very much in the same vein as Krvcifix Invertör, with some early black/thrash reminiscent of early Venom, Voïvod, Hellhammer and all that stuff from some 40 years ago. That singer still has this multiple-personality thing going, sounding like Cronos or Snake interchangeably as the album progresses. The band have cleaned up their sound a bit this time around, not sounding quite as raw and with a better production, but it’s nevertheless still a hell of a lot of headbanging fun. It really feels like a trip back in time from beginning to end, just with more modern production means. Fans of early Venom and the likes who can’t get enough of the stuff should definitely check this out, but first pad the walls so you don’t damage the drywall. |
