This band just came out with their second album of Doom-edged Trad Metal, Legions, and I just could not get excited about it. But it reminded me that I rather liked their debut from a few years ago. An independent release that didn’t get much attention, this self-titled album is definitely one that will show you a good time. If you like similar doomy bands like Argus or Sinister Realm, then this will be the kind of thing you can dig in on. This one is just better than the follow-up, with stronger riffing and a better vocal performance from Matias Nastolin. This isn’t doing anything you haven’t heard before, but it’s got attitude and enough heaviness to keep things interesting. |
