Another shortish release by Maudiir, still doing blackened thrash a little differently. This one kicks off a little melancholic and borderline depressing, but then we get into more aggressive territory and all is good again. This is where things get catchy and kind of rocking, so bang those heads and break out that air guitar. The vocals are a raspy screech that's often harsher and more aggressive than the music and that fits well even though one might expect a different style to kick in at times. Throw in the occasional progressiveness and a lot of melody for good measure. Soliloque is not all that different from the previous two releases, so if you liked that stuff, you can't go wrong with this one. |
