It's been a while since I listened to this band, one of many named Enforcer but likely the best known. They're still going hard at their hybrid of heavy and speed metal, and if you told me this was released in the 1983-85 period, I'd believe you. Soaring vocals, insanely catchy melodies, fast, wicked solos with a rock vibe, lots of speed and, of course, slower and more syrupy stuff like the title track. Sometimes the vocal style reminds me of early '80s pop rock—the good stuff that still sounds good today—which makes for a good mix with the traditional heavy metal approach of the rest of the vocals. If you like accessible, catchy traditional heavy metal with a good dose of speed from 40 years ago, you'll find something to like on Nostalgia. |
