I am not often impressed by Greek extreme bands, but this has more aggression than melody, and for once doesn't sound like boring old Rotting Christ. Second album for this Athenian band, who trade in a fast, chaotic approach that makes them sound like an Osmose outfit—like Diocletian or Angelcorpse. This has a pretty good production that lets you hear what is going on without cleaning things up too much. The drums are a bit flat sounding, which would not be a problem if they were not mixed so far forward, because it's the relentless churning riffs that keep things interesting here. The vocals are a pretty standard raspy bellow, but they get the job done. This has a lot of energy, but the songs all sound a lot alike, and so by the end it has kind of worn you down. Additional Information Editor's note: I'm done dealing with names that don't use non-Latin alphabets, so using the English translation for the album title here. |
