On their sophomore album, Frozen Soul present yet more old-school death metal like they did on their 2021 debut, Crypt of Ice. The likes of Obituary and Bolt Thrower still come to mind, but there's also the Swedish school making its way in along with some more melody and I quite like how they blend it all. A lot of the album is more on the slow, marching side, leading more to "head bobbing" than headbanging, and those slower passages are a highlight with their more menacing, dark and, let's say it, cold vibe. Crunchy riffs all around tie this baby up. Good stuff.
