This is the debut for this one-man act that doesn't sound like one, I think mostly because we are used to hearing one-man Black Metal bands and not Death Metal. This has a great, hollow, bellowing recording job that really gives a subterranean feel, and the riffs are just bludgeoning heaviness, so the sound of this is very much like getting clubbed to death in a cave. The riffs have a surprising amount of texture in among the heaviness, so there is more than that to grab onto. This has a low-fi, grimy feel I often associate with South American stuff, and that's meant as a compliment. If you like thugging, downtuned, primitive-sounding Death Metal then this is the shit right here. That album title? Exactly what this fucking sounds like. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
