Debut from this Aussie band who play galloping Heavy Metal that we used to call Speed Metal back in the day, evoking classic acts like Scanner as well as more recent outfits like Ravage, flavored with a kick of classic metal sounds like Riot. Overall, this is a catchy, energetic, and refreshingly unpretentious disc of careening speed and high-octane wailing vocals. Singer Nick Wilks has a lot of versatility, but he does dabble in some screeching that doesn't sound good. The mix is a little bit rough, with everything kind of piled up on top of itself, but I just think that lets the manic energy shine through that much better. A band to watch for. |
