Definitely an unexpected name for a thrash band, this one is made of experienced musicians from the Bristol area and their debut EP is one hell of a slab of old-school thrash, very much in the vein of the rawer crowd like early Kreator and other early to mid-80s insane German thrash. It's fast, aggressive, and relentless, with harsh vocals from female vocalist Heather Taylor that sound like a blend of Sabina of Holy Moses with Destruction's Schmier and Mille from Kreator for some added German-style aggressive thrash vocal goodness, so no smooth care-bear stuff to be found here. Heavy, pounding, savage, breakneck speed... It's mid-80s in-your-face raw thrash all over again. It'll be interesting to see if they can keep this level on a full-length album—I have my hopes up. Lots of new thrash bands out there and this is a rare one that made me sit back and take notice. |
