On one hand, this is exactly what I expected from a Polish Death Metal band, on another hand it's very different from the standard. When this band is crushing along, the broad similarity to bands like Vader is pretty obvious, but there is more to it than that, and the songwriting has more intricacy and quite a bit of melody and atmosphere in the mix. In places this reminds me of much more experimental bands like Necrophagia or Mithras, maybe even a touch of Septicflesh with the chants and the apocalyptic mood of the whole thing. What I'm saying is that this is cool, and it's doing different enough from mainline Death Metal to stand out and make for an individual sound that's both malevolent and catchy. |
