Never heard of these guys before, but this is good stuff. This is their only album, first released in 1988, and then they released a demo in 1989, Threshold of Pain, splitting up some time later. Four of the five tracks from the demo are included on this reissue. This is very upbeat, fast, in-your-face heavy metal with some thrash leanings. Sporting clean, catchy vocals, the songs are pretty much no-frills, just straightforward, powerful, raw heavy metal. It's very much in the vein of what was being done around the time before thrash went out of favour, so no surprise here. Some bands went for a darker vibe, but Lethal Dose opted for a really catchy, party-ish style that really gets the head banging and the fists pumping in the air. No ballads, no syrupy stuff to be found here. It's high-octane metal from beginning to end and it's a lot of fun. |
