Los Densos are an act hailing from the ancient jungles of Argentina who released their debut EP a couple of years back with little fanfare. Shame that, as this is a rollicking good time of rocking metal that works in a down and dirty vein like you'd expect from a South American act. The opening instrumental might make you think this is going to be a clean, epic strand, but by the time "Aquelarre" starts that this is going to be an album full of rocking NWOBHM riffs and sharp, sometimes epic melodic leads that all have a dirty, Motörhead-esque edge to it all, complete with gruff, nasty vocals and the occasional nod to stoner rock, like on "Volver de la Muerte." There's nothing particularly original here, and that might be part of the reason it got overlooked, but I'd call this a damn solid debut from a band that's just here to have a good time and makes sure you do as well. I have their recent follow-up courtesy of the band themselves, so here's hoping they didn't stop rocking this hard in the past few years. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
