Some interesting black metal out of Slovakia here. Melodic and with a very dark atmosphere. There's some of the classic '90s sound here as well as more doomy passages that are downright cold and a little creepy and also some more straightforward, headbanging passages, though not much of that. On top of that there's a bit of the Polish black metal sound to be found here; at times I was reminded a bit of Graveland circa 2000, kind of a pagan black metal vibe with cavernous vocals a little low in the mix, to great effect. Only three songs here, but two of them just over 11 minutes long and only is nearly 14 minutes. Thirty-six minutes that sometimes feel like a rollercoaster ride through a number of black metal subgenres. |
