I have been a Runespell fan for a while now, going back to Order of Vengeance in 2018, though it seems like longer ago than that. This band has almost always been reliable for epic, atmospheric Black Metal with a lot of mood and melody. This is definitely akin to mid-period Graveland, so if you like Creed of Iron or Memory and Destiny, then you will probably like this too. I find this one of the stronger entries in the band's catalog, as it is not too cleaned up, and retains that underground murk, while still maintaining enough clarity to show off the layered melodies and build a ton of atmosphere. Worthy. |
