It's been like 15 years since I caught up with Legion of the Damned, who impressed me with Sons of the Jackal in 2007 and then kind of dropped off my radar. This is the eighth album under the Legion of the Damned name, after the band changed it from Occult in 2005 after five albums under that name. I have to say this band is still good, kicking in skulls with the same energetic Death/Thrash they have always played. Similar to bands like The Crown or Deathchain (when Deathchain were still, you know, good) or even recalling fellow countrymen God Dethroned in their aggressive assault. The riffs are satisfyingly thrashy, and the vocals are a venomous snarl that still maintains that edge of thrashy intelligibility. The feral songwriting will keep your head banging, and it's really something that these guys are still going this hard after all these years. Don't skip this one.
