Hard to believe Decayed are still at it. An institution in the Portuguese underground for 30 years now, the sole original member is the defiantly old-school Jose Afonso, who also leads the similarly retro Alastor and Death Feast. Decayed are a Black Metal band who exist to carry the banner of the first-wave sound. The fact that there is a Sodom cover smack in the middle of this and you can't really tell is pretty much all you need to know about what this is aiming for. Raw, subterranean, vicious Black Metal done the way it was done in the old days of Apocalyptic Raids, In the Sign of Evil, and Deathcrush. If you love this kind of shit, then there are not many bands who still do it, and fewer who do it this well. A slab of unregenerate blackened filth. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
