This is yet another band that somehow flew below my radar. Cruel Force play some speedy blackened thrash with powerful thrashy vocals (reminds me of the mid-80s German style) and a surprising dose of melody. Lots of kickass, catchy riffs and solos can be heard throughout the album and it's really hard to keep still while this is on. The faster parts will scrape the paint off the walls, while when they slow down it's impossible not to headbang and air-guitar to this stuff because it's so damn old school and catchy. Cruel Force wear their old-school influences on their sleeves, but the speed and heaviness is more reminiscent of "newer" (past 25 years or so... damn, I'm getting old) black/thrash and extreme metal. It's heavy, it's fast, the speakers can barely contain the power, and it's a lot of fun. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
