This is one that's a little hard to categorize as there are elements of heavy metal, '70s heavy rock, speed metal and thrash and even a bit of a punk vibe reminiscent of some early NWOBHM bands and even Motörhead at times. Needless to say, this is fun stuff for old-school metal addicts (raises hand). It's fast and has a huge rock 'n' roll vibe that makes it pretty much impossible to remain still while this is on; forget about using Sewer Surge as background music as it's impossible to ignore, and you better set your cruise control if you're driving. The vocals sound like a mix of Lemmy and that of vocalists of bands of the ilk of Desaster, but the style is definitely closer to Lemmy's and a good fit for the music. Vengeance (who apparently are also known as Fukkin' Vengeance) play it pedal to the metal on this album and the listener is in for one hell of a workout trying to keep up with this stuff. It's almost like Motörhead or Superchrist on steroids. |
