A mere two years after their debut EP, Jävelin have returned to kick down doors, raid liquor cabinets, and rock the fuck out with their self-titled full-length debut. If you heard their last release, then you've basically heard this one, but that's OK because that's just more primal, punky chaos that parties with the likes of Venom, early Voïvod, Motörhead, and so on that goes down like a good beer after a previous good beer. Sure, the playing is sloppy, the timing of notes is generally off, and this was likely recorded live in a session or two, but that's entirely the point of this style of metal. Who needs useless crap like theory and songwriting structure when you can just be raw, dirty, and mean like the pissed off punks that helped invent the genre? Clearly not Jävelin, and that makes them pretty fucking wicked in my book. Unpolished, unrefined, and unapologetic, just the way it should be.
