Fast and furious blackened death is the name of the game on Scorn Aesthetics. Overall it's rather generic and I don't like it as much as 2022's Entropy Dynamics, but it's quite listenable. There's a lot of pedal-to-the-metal material here where the band is just plowing ahead will all guns blazing and that's nothing you haven't heard before, though it's done well and will keep you pinned to the ground. It's when they tone it down that things get more interesting as this is when the band starts sounding "evil" with more melody that creates an atmosphere that takes the listener out of the repetitive speedfest. More of that would have made the album less generic. It's alright when it's on, but not quite setting the band apart from the crowd. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
