Rage and Fire is another new traditional metal band that has been hoovered up by No Remorse Records who are putting out the band's debut album, The Last Wolf. These guys have a direct approach with chunky riffs and gruff vocals belting out fantasy/horror lyrics. Their sound is a bit chaotic and the singing sometimes a bit over the top but, in general, the album chugs along like a freight train. The songs are good but not overly memorable and Rage and Fire seems to have more in-your-face energy than songwriting chops at this stage of their career. I hear early Savatage and other US bands like Thrust in their sound, so check out The Last Wolf if that sounds like your thing. |
