Incantation are one of the longest-running of what I think of as the second-generation USDM bands, as they didn't really get attention until the '90s, after the initial Death Metal wave had already crested. Even though this is their 13th album in a career that stretches back more than 30 years at this point, they just don't have a distinct sound, and every time I listen to one of their albums, it is in one ear and out the other, with nothing that sticks with me. I'm not bored listening to this, though it has to be said the riffs are pretty lazily written. The production is solid and the playing is pro, there's just nothing here that other bands don't do better.
