This album starts off sounding like a mix of Incantation and Immolation, with deep-sounding death metal that’s good but nothing you haven’t heard before, but eventually it progresses into some doomy, crushingly heavy atmospheric death metal that I wish had existed when I was a kid in the ‘70s and we’d turn off all the lights in the basement and put on some creepy music to scare us. We might have ended up scarred for life. ;) OK, it’s not that scary, but it’s like slow death march into the depths of hell. Those growls just add more evil to the music; it’s the kind of growls you often hear in doom/death. Nicely done. |
