I didn't expect this based on the band name alone. Ectoplasma is a Greek band that plays raw and dirty old-school death metal that takes you back to 1990 or so. Fast at times with razor-sharp guitars, they also swerve into punishingly slow, crushing passages surrounded by a creepy atmosphere - those bits would fit well in some suspenseful horror movies. The growls are top-notch; nothing fancy, just delivered with perfection for the music on offer. It's old-school death metal done very well, so do yourself a favour and check it out if that's your kind of thing.
