Tomb Mold's brand of death metal is rooted in old-school death metal and it's that stuff that sounds best on The Enduring Spirit. They tend to go too technical and that's a shame as their more straightforward stuff sounds so much better—but if you're into technical death metal, you'll find this to your liking. They have quite a few jazzy passages that are interesting and show the band trying to do something out of the ordinary, but I find they sound out of place most of the time. I often say that album xyz brings nothing new, and Tomb Mold are trying (though it's been done before; it's just rare), but the execution is a bit off. Despite this, I found the album enjoyable.
