The proggy, precise yet accessible and melodic metal Warmen play on their sixth album, Here for None, made more sense to me when I found out the band hails from Finland. Mixing death vocals with genres like power and progressive is a Finnish tradition and these guys do it well. Even if you don't like harsh vocals, there's probably something here you won't mind because the keyboard and guitar hooks are abundant, along with some proggy keyboard soloing (for example, "Hell on Four Wheels"). I had to look it up, because I don't know any Ultravox songs by name off the top of my head, but it was no surprise when I discovered "Dancing with Tears in My Eyes" was a cover of one of that band's big hits. Bringing dance/electronic influences into their sound is another Finnish specialty (see Beast in Black), though this song is somewhat out of step with the slightly darker tone of the rest of Here for None. Well executed but not particularly distinctive is how I'd sum up this album. It isn't an album I dislike when it is on, but by the same token, there's nothing on here that sticks around for long once it is over.
