This album from one-man band Azathoth's Dream starts off interesting enough, with some '90s-style raw black metal and a full sound that sometimes makes it hard to tell things apart. The brutal style slowly turns into a more melodic and somewhat melancholic affair, which comes off sounding a little depressive. That's not unexpected from so-called vampiric black metal, though with that sitting next to more straightforward black metal, I find the latter style more enjoyable on this release. The insane screeches are worthy of mention, definitely something you can use to freak out the neighbours. Not great, but quite listenable. |
