Third full-length for this Slovakian band, who have been around for like fifteen years but spend a lot of time releasing EPs, splits, and singles, as a lot of black metal bands often do. I had heard of this band, but not heard them. I have seen comparisons to Emperor, and I guess I can see that, as this is highly melodic black metal with some symphonic elements to it, but overall it reminds me more of bands like Sear Bliss or even Bornholm, as the melodic lines are usually carried by the guitars, with the keys just providing some accents. It's well produced and well played, and sometimes it grabs me, but a lot of this is kind of faceless. |
