Mexico's Stenched formed just this year but already got a label to spread their putrid death metal to the masses. This is somewhat lo-fi with a deep and heavy sound that just reeks; it's unpolished and that's part of this EP's charm (the EP is really the demo with some bonus tracks). The band's death metal is straightforward with deep, indecipherable growls, devoid of gimmicks, it makes you feel like you're making your way through filthy clogged sewers and some mutant rats are lurking in the corners. It's dirty death metal at the opposite end of technical death metal, and it's damn addictive. |
