This stoner doom—a genre I'm not especially familiar with—band plays it old school, sounding like they literally came out of the '70s from the get-go on Reaching for the Light. They sound like a mix of early Black Sabbath and '70s psychedelic heavy rock, so the album has a very relaxed and "trippy" vibe. They remind me a bit of the band Ecstatic Vision (not metal, but highly recommended), except Ecstatic Vision are faster and crazier, but the vibe is quite similar. The pace is mostly slow, so you're not going to thrash to this, but if a little trip back some 50 years sounds good to you, this album will do the trick as Demonio really sound like they're in the wrong timeline. Good stuff. |
