Raw, barebones, dirty death metal is what Nex Nihil is about, but this time around the Mexican death metallers have blackened the grounds some, with an atmosphere that's right out of demonic black metal. The vocals are also more akin to what you'd hear in black metal, but setting that and the atmosphere aside, this is basic but effective death metal that also relies on slower passages for effectiveness, though speed is at the rendezvous to keep your neck well exercised. It's a bit messy and repetitive at times, nothing especially polished here, but it's dark and anguished, not the kind of stuff that will lift your spirits. Well done.
