Rascal is a Polish band formed in 2019 that is putting out their debut album, Lost Beyond Reason, in 2023 after a couple of shorter releases. They generally play fast traditional metal with an emphasis on the guitar work, which is overall very good. The tone is excellent, the riffs are all quite enjoyable, and some of the lead work (the title track, for instance) is excellent. I don't know how technically impressive it is, but Rascal play the kind of leads bands like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden incorporated into their songs. They feel really integrated into the flow. The vocals are mainly a solid metal shout with some harsh vocals thrown in here and there to keep it interesting. There's nothing amazing about Lost Beyond Reason, but it is a really fun, headbanging metal album in the vein of Savage Grace and newer groups like Enforcer and Skull Fist, so if those bands do it for you, grab a copy and crank up Rascal.
