I didn't realize this was an EP, but then at over 30 minutes, it is longer than what some bands call a full-length. This bills as Melodic Death Metal, but that term has become so generalized that it can mean a lot of different things. Rather than the traditional, Scandinavian sound, this draws more on US bands like Ares Kingdom, playing melodic but still definite Death Metal, going for more open arrangements than the very tight, techy styles of USDM. I find myself liking this much more than I thought I would. On initial spin I thought the arrangements were undercooked, but later they opened out and revealed a lot of complexity and twists that reward repeated listens. If you like your Death Metal with a more adventurous sound, then this is a band to look into. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
