Ignited is a band hailing from Brazil and Cradle of the Wicked is their second full-length album. From the first note, what jumps out is how good the recording job sounds despite this being an independent release. That has to do in part with the band members' obvious skills, but also that it was recorded, produced, etc. at a studio in Gothenburg, Sweden, which I'm sure aided Ignited in getting the best sound they were capable of. They play aggressive and melodic metal, almost a power/thrash style and the vocal lines especially had me thinking of The Black Flame-era Wolf as well as early Sanctuary. The songwriting is overall very strong with nothing resembling a weak track, but the album lacks a true killer song or two that would make you want to hit repeat as soon as it ends. Nevertheless, Cradle of the Wicked is a slick, headbanging effort from Ignited and hopefully a sign of even better things to come. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
