This band grew out of '90s death metal band Cromlech and this is now their fifth album since their debut in 2020. That's productive alright. They are pretty much stuck in the early '90s as far as Swedish death metal goes, and that's a compliment. That trademark old-school Swedish death metal sound is stamped all over the place and this really sounds like an album that would have left its mark if it had been released 30+ years ago. Buzzing, raw, razor-sharp guitars and punchy, thunderous drums are accompanied by some haunting raucous growls that sound either creepy or evil, or a combination of both. Into the Abysmal Void sounds like its name with a dark, hollow atmosphere that sucks you in right from the start. Old-school Swedish death metal done right. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
