This is the shit right here. Cinereous Rain may have a weird name, but this album is an intense slab of murky, unfriendly Black Metal. Reminding me a bit of Charnel Valley or even early Ruins of Beverast, this is dense, with all the instruments mixed into a bubbling cauldron of evil and almost no separation between the sounds. It sounds like it was recorded in a fucking dungeon and creates a deeply malevolent atmosphere. Black Metal done right. |
