This is the second album from this Chilean band, made up of two guys who are also in other Death Metal bands like Inanna and (the now broken-up) Death Smell. This is a straight-up disc of pummeling South American Death Metal, right in line with bands like Krisiun or Sarcofago. This kind of stuff often straddles the line between the US school with its clickety tech leanings and the more riff-oriented Euro styles, and Coffin Curse are right there, with speed but not a lot of technicality, and melody but not too much. This is an enjoyable slab, if not anything you have not heard before. |
