Definitely a well-named album, Skull Crushing Violence is chock-full of savage, raw, violent and bestial death metal. This is a French band, but I think they took some pages out of Western Canadian war metal as some parallels can certainly be drawn when it comes to pure aural chaos. The buzzing guitar sound is haunting, the vocals nightmarish and you'll get whiplash trying to headbang to the drums. Leaving the old-school trend behind, Profanation give us a good example of how more modern death metal can destroy everything in its path without using any gimmicks. Hopefully the band is working on more similar goods. |
