Debut album for this two-man project featuring two guys from Nethermancy, one of whom was in Decayed (because everybody from the Portuguese scene has been in Decayed) and the other one who plays bass in the enjoyable Death Feast. This has that prototypical Portuguese sound, with the booming, hollow production, primitive riffs, and the underground vibe of chaos and evil. This is Black Metal in the sense that we used to mean it—back when it was Hellhammer, Venom, Sodom and the most primitive-sounding shit you could conjure up. There's nothing original about this—in fact it is expressly trying to sound like it was recorded 40 years ago—but it is a pummeling, head-smashing good time. |
