A one-man band from Romania, Insepultus is back after some 20 years of inactivity with some blasting, second-wave style black metal. So you know what you're in for: raw, straightforward, hate-filled black metal with raspy screeches—nothing new there. On top of that we get much slower material like "The World's Earth" with a dark, menacing, emotion-filled vibe, and "Hell Upon Earth" which is a letter from a soldier to his parents narrated with soothing acoustic music playing. Needless to say, the thematic of the album is war. The album offers a great mix of violent, fast black metal and slow to fast-paced, gloomier and melancholic black metal that, all put together, certainly match the lyrical themes. Nicely done. |
