Master's fifteenth album, Saints Dispelled, is a killer slab of old school, thrashy death metal that has a modern, clear sound but still brings me back to the '80s. When I'm listening to "Minds Under Pressure" or "Alienation of Insanity" (which is on the CD and digital versions, not the vinyl or cassette, so keep that in mind when making your buying decisions), I'm transported to a time when the seeds of death metal were being sown by albums like Reign in Blood, Seven Churches, and even Surf Nicaragua. The combination of sharp guitar work and throaty yet understandable vocals make Saints Dispelled a crushing listen, one that is littered with great riffs seemingly on every track. Master has honed their music to a fine, cruelly barbed, sonic attack that is coming for your eardrums.
