This band used to be called Mind Sculpt, but then in 2021 they apparently traded a band name that was merely undistinguished for one that is genuinely odd. This is a Greek band who are digging into the subgenre of Death Metal obsessed with modern warfare—originating with Bolt Thrower but proudly carried by more current bands like Just Before Dawn or Hail of Bullets. This is visceral and aggressive Death Metal with steamroller heaviness and a surprisingly melodic touch with the riffing. It trades back and forth with that blitzing German attack and a more melodic, Swedish sound. The songwriting is really developed, shifting gears and layers and shading to the sound, making for an album that doesn't get old and just keeps hitting like artillery right through the whole running time. Very good stuff. |
