This is a studio project of Peruvian singer Fatima "Natthammer" del Carmen, formerly of the recently broken-up Mandragora. From a woman with a lot of leather outfits and a Warlock tattoo, I was pretty sure I knew what to expect from this, and I wasn't wrong. This is straight-up, bare-knuckled, working-class Heavy Metal all the way. Fatima may not have the most technical voice, but she has a lot of attitude and she knows how to sell these songs. If you like classic stuff like Warlock, Dio, U.D.O. or even the Scorpions, then you will find this very familiar ground. There may not be any real ace songs on this, but they are all solid, and this album grows on me the more I hear it. |
