This is not a new album, but rather a promo for a vinyl re-release of this 2015 album by Dying Victims Productions. Lady Beast have been chugging away in the underground for years, but they are not a band I have heard before. This band gets lumped in with other female-fronted bands like Crystal Viper or Huntress, but with frontwoman Deborah Levine's lower-pitched delivery, to my ears they sound more like Smoulder or Savage Master, though Lady Beast have no Doom element in their sound, as they are Trad Metal all the way. This is definitely a band harking back to the US-Metal sound of the '80s with bands like Riot, Chastain, and Jag Panzer being obvious influences. The production here is pretty bare bones, and I do wish it had a bit more reverb on it for that really retro sound, but the musicianship is top-level, and even if none of the songs are classics, they are all fun. This feels like a band who could really make a masterwork if they bent themselves to it, they have it in them. If you like classic '80s stuff then this will be right up your alley.
